June Creative Images Meeting

We had a great time Wednesday night, welcoming back Pat J. and Cheryl, aka Cami, as returning members, and new member Pat R, who most of us already knew from my workshops.  Our exchange theme was “Manly Man” and almost everyone participated, except Phyllis who got a pass being as she is a newby.  Great guy cards, all.

First, Tange sorted through her stash and brought in this classic truck, made and given to her by Janice Penry, I think in a swap. Love the colors.

Cami’s manly card is full of cool details. Be sure and click on the pic to see them, then back to return.  Marbelized glossy paper, embossed wheels, spray glitz, tiny brad-like things, and the sun.  Welcome back, Cheryl!

Ella did this Western-themed card with an interesting fold.  I didn’t want my finger in the shot to hold it flat.  The outside was really nice, but when you open it . . .

Wow!  Beautiful coloring job on the horses.

Jeannie’s bright card definitely defines “birthday!” Trucks are guy things, fer sure.

My guy’s thing is motorcycles which he can’t ride anymore.  Embossed the argyle pattern on foil- covered cardstock for the “diamond plate” look.

Stamped off the motorcyle for the faded image on the inside.  I really miss Dusty Durango.

Wish I could control the side-by-side thing.  sigh  Pam made the seriously card from SU’s Paper Pumpkin monthly kit.  Pat J. did this lovely clipper ship.  I adjust my sails all the time!

Pat R. made this cute little golfer.  My camera made it yellower than it was.  Love the inside greeting, “Hope your day is par-fect.”

Therese had the June project and she taught us a technique that involved tearing strips of various designs (paper or stamped), gluing them down on CS, painting over them with gesso, then coloring and cutting a bathing beauty.  We smudged a shadow before attaching her.  Here’s three of Therese’s  samples.

Phyllis finished her card, too, but it was her very first card, ever!  Had to take a pic.

Four ladies participated in the ATC swap.  From left to right, Tange’s Oz card, Jeannie’s giraffe, Therese’s Japanese doll and Cami’s bamboo.

Last, but not least, Therese presented three samples of her proposed project for the January Stamp Camp.  She used a suitcase die and what looks like alligator paper. Therese said we could make a card or a small journal, our choice.
