Proposed Stamp Camp Projects

I have organized the pics I have taken at each meeting where a proposed project was submitted for this coming January’s stamp camp.  Had to rename them as they all were called “proposed project”!  I don’t think it would be fair for me to do much but identify and describe a little each proposed project.  I could sway the votes if I was too vociferous in my praise!  Or not.  Either way, here are the pics, identified as to who made them.  We are to each bring in our project for hands on inspection before voting at the December meeting/Christmas party on Dec. 11. Stamp Camp, the Sequel

Got together with Jeannie, Pam and Helen Saturday to work on the projects from last week’s stamp camp.  I actually finished my ATC memory box and seaside canvas card (with a few touches this a.m. before I took pics). 
First, my canvas card.  Turned out pretty good.  Click on the card to see details, then back to return.

Last week, I showed you the very rough draft of my ATC memory box.

Since then, I painted all the metal trinkets white and added a few more.

Here’s the finished product.  Not sure about the bow on the big key.  I decided not to paint the key white.  Great project, Tange.  I’ll hang it in my stamp room.  Click to see the details.  “Gave” this to Russel because he has the key to my heart.

Just as a teaser and because I can, here’s a pic of my favorite card off the sample wall at the Sale-A-Bration Celebration.  To me, it looks like she used the Elegant Butterfly punch, then stamped and fussy cut the little butterflies, before mounting all on an embossed piece of cardstock.

I made a card for Jeannie’s birthday on Friday, so I CASE’d the above card.  I used the same punch, but for the smaller contrasting butterflies I used one of the butterflies in the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  Much easier, although I do love fussy cutting.

Creative Images Stamp Camp

Boy, howdy, has it been a long couple of months.  Lots of things happened since beginning of December, not the least of which was being sick for weeks, which pretty much ruined Christmas.  We went to Alabama for a week and finished up with Russel’s company party.  After that, everything went down hill fast.  It’s a good thing we put the tree up before we left, or it would never have gotten up.  Like Forrest, I’ll say that’s all I’m gonna say about that. 

Christmas is over, there was no Creative Images meeting/party in December, and I am now getting back in the saddle with my blog.  This last weekend, we had our January stamp camp, followed immediately by Jeannie, Helen and I going to a Sale-a-Bration Celebration put on by Stampin’ Up in Orlando.  Lots of pics, lots of fun.  I’ll start with the Stamp Camp and work on the SAB Celebration another day.

My nephew’s wife, Shana, asked me what a stamp camp is.  I told her I’d write all about it in my blog, so here goes.  Our stamp club, Creative Images, figures out which of several projects we would like to work on that take longer than we could do during our monthly meeting.  The members decided to go with Jeannie and Therese’s photo-transfer to canvas and Tange’s Artist Trading Card (ATC) memory box.  We also had our business meeting, nominating officers, planning the calendar, did our card exchange (left over from December) and had our Chinese gift exchange.  Busy day. 

First up, pictures of Jeannie’s and Therese’s samples.  They had taken laser color copies of photos, adhered them to canvas with a medium of some kind, I forget, rubbed off the paper, let it dry and attached the canvas to cards.  Click on a picture to see details, then back to return.  I love the glittery sand and shell on the first one.

 

I didn’t finish mine as it wasn’t drying fast enough.  Hope to finish it this weekend and put proper pictures on here.

Next we worked on Tange’s ATC memory box.  Tange and the club provided the boxes that hold 12 ATC’s.  Here are pics of two of Tange’s finished ones and one in progress to see how it’s done.  Again, click on the pics to see details, then back.

 

Before I had seen Tange’s red and black sample, I had decided on a black and white theme for my box.  I cut black rectangles to fit in the spaces, then slightly smaller pieces of designer papers, all different.  Tange went through her trinket box and we pulled out lots of little things.  I decided to add a couple of touches of red to make it pop.  A couple of brass things like the butterfly and clock I am going to paint white.  Here’s a pic of the basic idea.

For show and tell, Ella brought in her 12 days of Santa ATC memory box.  So cute!

We had five exchange cards, theme “Glittering Good Time.” First up is Lona’s.  Hard to see the glittery snow on the trees.

Finally, Stamp Camp Pics!

Well, I finally got time to go through the 100+ pics on my poor overworked digital camera. I have three categories to post and here's the first bunch. My stamp club (not SU related) had its Christmas stamp camp on Dec. 6 at the community center where one of our members (thanks, Helen!) lives during the winter. I've had a busy couple of weeks and will be sharing pics of stuff I've made, the best of the pics I took while touring an ante-bellum mansion in Mobile, and these stamp camp pics.

First up is Cheryl's iris folding ornament exchange card.

This is the first five of ten cards I made from Pat's OSW project. It's not a true OSW, as Pat gave us pieces of lots of different designer papers and I added more myself, but they all follow same scheme and go in the cute tote purse Pat showed us how to make. My sister wanted a bunch of thank you cards, so she's getting ten!

Here's the other five cards. Pat used mostly non-SU CS and DSP, but I used a couple pieces of Au Chocolat, a lovely retired but not forgotten SU DSP. I changed the tote to use flower brads instead of the eyelets Pat used on hers.

This is the snowy skaters medallion I made for the exchange card. I used a nifty punch technique I learned from Splitcoast, snowflake embossed the main white layer, and did the glittery layer in a technique I've demonstrated at workshops and will do as the project with Helen for our club's January meeting.

This is a quickie pic of the six tags I got in the tag swap. Of the nine ladies who attended, only seven brought tags for the exchange. These are the six I received. Clockwise from the top, the angel with the folding body is Neva's, the blue tag with snowflake is Helen's, the poinsettia tag is Therese's, the plaid ribbon tag is Dani's and the snowy scene is Elle's.

This is a group shot of the six tags I made with mirror CS from Marco's Papers, cut out with scalloped Nesties, topped with the round tab punch and Real Red ribbon bows from SU, and snowflake stickers stuck on wherever.

This is Neva's exchange card with a family of bears off on a snowy road trip to bring home the tree!

This is Tange's Holiday Lineup exchange card. She says purple is her favorite color!

Here is Therese's sample of the project she did with alcohol inks on acetate. I haven't finished mine, but it is a cool technique.
